No to Nuclear! The motion of SEL in the municipal council After the motion on 'Left
Public Water Ecology Freedom submitted a February 3 anti-nuclear agenda.
The return to nuclear energy in Italy is a purpose outside its own time: the nuclear power now produces less energy than renewable energy, its economic viability is in serious doubt, and estimates of stocks of uranium is more obscure than that of oil.
In a world that increasingly invests in renewables and in their scientific research, our country, which could very well take advantage of these alternative resources, they plunged back into a past with no positive outcome.
Therefore, SEL has applied, even in response to a recent ruling of the Constitutional Court, which the council of Monza is committed to oppose any installation of nuclear power stations in our Province.

That in these days has received confirmation that infrastructure is necessary to carry out any sharing with the territory, more so for systems that affect the future development of the area that will host them
that the Constitutional Court rejects part of Article 4 of Legislative Decree on the construction of nuclear power plants and says that the regions concerned must express their views the construction sites
that nuclear power plants have a tremendous impact in terms of local pollution and are highly questionable from the standpoint of safety
that we need an energy system that combats climate change based on renewables and energy efficiency
That nuclear power, already produces less global renewable energy, and its contribution will continue to decline in coming years.
I commit the City Council in Monza
• to counteract any possibility of allocation of plants for the production of energy from nuclear plants or other facilities to service them, throughout the Province of Monza and Brianza ;
to
• forward this motion in the Lombardy Region, to implement everything in its power to prevent the installation of nuclear power plants in the region as well as any type of service to them;
• to transmit this motion to the Ministry of Economic Development to express the total opposition of the City of Monza in Italy on reboot nuclear power plants.
